Digital Skills Class Topics

Computer Basics

The Computer Basics course is tailored for adults seeking to build a solid foundation in computer skills. Participants will learn the parts of a computer,  how to turn their device on and off, navigate files and folders. By the end of the course, learners will have a better understanding of how to use their computer for everyday tasks and improving their digital literacy.

Email Basics

This Email Basics course is designed for adults looking to enhance their digital communication skills. Participants will learn how to create, send, and manage emails effectively, as well as understand email etiquette and security practices. By the end of the course, learners will confidently navigate their email accounts and utilize email as a powerful tool for personal and professional communication.

Avoiding Scams

In today’s tech-driven world, the internet enhances communication, learning, and entertainment but also exposes users to online scams. Older adults are particularly vulnerable, with those over 60 losing an estimated $3.1 billion to scams in 2022. DANEnet’s cybersecurity class focuses on protecting your personal information—identity, data, and finances—online.

iPhone or Android Phone Basics

Smartphones are often a person’s most-used and most convenient tool for accessing the internet, but do you know how to make the best use of all the features, settings, and capabilities of your device? This class will share tips for making the most of your smartphones! DANEnet offers separate classes for iPhone users and Android users to provide the best learning experience.

Photo Storage and Management

Do you have a digital mountain of photos on your phone/computer and feel overwhelmed by the thought of organizing them? This class will teach participants simple steps to consolidate, sort, and manage your photo collection.

Protecting Your Digital Legacy

We prepare for so many possibilities – from severe weather to medical emergencies and so much more. While we insure ourselves against many potential risks, one piece is often overlooked: protecting our digital presence. Learn what steps to take today to give yourself peace of mind in the future.
