DANEnet's TeamStrengthening local nonprofits, closing the digital divide
Shawn joined the DANEnet team in 2020, bringing more than 20 years’ experience working within and volunteering for nonprofits. Her passion is identifying agency/community needs, then creating and implementing systems and partnerships that improve organizational efficacy while strengthening and expanding programs empowering those in marginalized communities. Whether it’s program development, data systems management, board leadership, or boots-on-the ground client services, Shawn enjoys working with others to improve access, empowerment, enrichment, and equity.
Jonathan has been working with DANEnet since 2000. He loves helping the agencies he works with keep on doing what they do, and ideally do it better. His expertise is mainly in the Microsoft world, and these days he spends most of his time working with Windows servers, email and cloud services. He has a BA in Communication and an MA in Theological Studies.
Senior Technology Consultant, IT Team Manager
Matt has worked for DANEnet since 2002. He has a BA and he has completed several Cisco Networking certificate courses at Madison College, including CCNA, CCNA VOICE and CCNP. He enjoys anything having to do with networking; everything from configuring switches and routers to pulling cable. Matt’s passion for the work DANEnet does stems from his belief that nonprofits should be afforded the same level of IT service as for-profits. He can’t stand to see a nonprofit pay more for IT solutions, knowing those dollars could go to the services that nonprofit provides.
Al joined DANEnet in 2010 after retiring from a long career in technology and engineering. He started his career at Gilson Medical Electronics as an electrical design engineer, and then he worked for seven years at Oscar Meyer in computer tech support, including four years as the lead contract technician. Most recently he was the network administrator for the Milk Marketing Board. He really enjoys helping nonprofits create and implement preventative maintenance and back-up plans. “A little bit of support work each month can prevent a big headache later.”
Technology Support Specialist
Donald joined DANEnet in 2019 after switching career paths. He has an MBA in Operations Management and has a diverse customer service background. Donald has a Cisco certification and engages in continuous learning not only with the diverse opportunities DANEnet offers but also at Madison College where he is a student. He enjoys networking, server administration, and imaging computer labs. Donald wants to utilize his business and technology knowledge to facilitate workable solutions for DANEnet clients.
Dave joined DANEnet in 2018. He’s self-employed as a tech tutor, helping those who didn’t grow up with technology feel comfortable while learning to use their new smartphone, tablet, or computer. Dave’s strength is explaining new concepts in terms that are already familiar to students.
Brenna joined the DANEnet team in 2017. She is a Ph.D. student at UW-Madison, where she specializes in the teaching of literacy. She has a passion for helping people learn new computer skills and thinks technology can empower people to create change in the world. She has a master’s degree in journalism from Northwestern University and has experience with a wide range of creative software applications, as well as digital photography.
Jorge started with DANENnet in 2017. He has BA Computer Science and Master’s degree in business administration studies. He has been teaching since the last 13 years in Business Technology field at Madison College, Latino Academy of Work Development and also has experience working in different IT companies. He likes to help businesses and individuals,especially Latino or bilingual community members, to improve their computer skills and ability to use end user software, like Microsoft Office, the internet and others tools.
Technology Support Specialist
Mark has been a consultant with DANEnet for four years. For 25 years, he has worked with information systems, managed IT departments for non-profit and for profit companies. His strengths lie in the design, development and deployment of Microsoft Windows domain infrastructures, SQL database design and Microsoft Azure Cloud Applications. He gains most satisfaction in finding economical solutions for the traditional problems faced by growing nonprofits through the use of always changing technology.
Eric, one of the two initial employees of DANEnet starting in 1994, has a masters degree in community psychology. He specializes in Linux, web programming (not design), open source software as well as youth and senior education. His passion for DANEnet has been trying to reduce the many digital divides; that is the unavailability of technical resources to people and organizations whose lives and/or work would benefit from better access.
Eric joined DANEnet in 2011 as a technology consultant. He is an application developer, database administrator, and project manager in a wide variety of business applications. He is particularly interested in client/server and relational database design using open source databases and Visual FoxPro, PHP, C#, or Java.
