Frequently Asked Questions
Why should we use DANEnet?
DANEnet is a nonprofit organization, we understand nonprofits, and we hold the best interests of nonprofit organizations in our mission and our practice! Our expert staff are committed to providing quality, affordable services and appropriate technology. We don’t always promote the latest and the greatest, but rather we work with clients to find the best solutions to your challenges and needs.
Technology planning, up-to-date computer hardware, affordable Internet access, and knowledge of software applications are all essential for nonprofit organizations, but are often left out of the budget and under-resourced. When nonprofits take full advantage of the capacity of technology, they can focus more energy on their mission and raising funds to support their organization.
We don’t like to see nonprofits paying for high-priced services from companies that don’t share their mission and don’t know about special technology deals and offers for nonprofits. DANEnet has the knowledge, the expertise, and the connections to help organizations do their important work for our communities.
How does DANEnet’s IT/tech support work?
DANEnet provides both scheduled, managed tech support and also on-demand support to nonprofits in Dane County. Nonprofit clients can either schedule regular maintenance/work, or call their assigned DANEnet technicians as needed. Even if your agency has not worked with us in the past, you are only one call away from getting a DANEnet technician’s help!
How much does it cost?
DANEnet bills $75 per hour for IT/tech support, and clients can also purchase prepaid hours for a $70/hr rate. We bill at 1/2 our service rate for travel to and from your agency. Read our FINEprint document and our 2020 Service Contract for all the details.
How fast can you help?
DANEnet technical support is designed to help with routine, non-emergency technology tasks, problems and long term planning. Technology consultants work Monday – Friday between 8 am and 6 pm. All clients can expect a phone response to a request for service within 24 hours and most appointments are scheduled within one or two days. Most often you can expect same-day response.
